Beckham Watched The Triple Threat!

BC Provincial champions, The Tsawwassen Triple Threat, were invited to play during half-time at the long awaited match between the Vancouver Whitecaps and The LA Galaxy. Yes, number 23 David Beckham was there and played over 70 minutes!

The Triple Threat played their arch rivals The Surrey Lightning in front of 50,000 soccer fans and won the game 2-1. Toward the end of their match, number 23 came to the sidelines and watched them play. Yes Posh Spice’s husband came on the field specifically to watch the girls play.

After their game, David Beckham was gracious and signed jerseys and shook hands with the girls. It was a thrill for the girls and an evening they will never forget.

The Whitecaps had an incredible game which resulted in a score of 0-0.

Casted in a parking lot!

Allie broke her wrist in the Coastal WFC game against Vancouver Island and was told she would not play for 3-4 weeks. One week after her injury a team mate’s father (who is a surgeon) suggested casting her arm during the Coastal WFC game agaist Thompson-Okanagan. In the parking lot of Hugh Boyd Athletic Park, Allie got a fibreglass cast put on her left arm. The warm day helped it dry fast and she was marked as a sub player. Coastal WFC won their game 3-1 and although Allie did not play, she is now ready to meet the Seattle Crossfire this weekend.

Allie Wins Three 1st Place Ribbons!

In the SDSS District Track Meet, Allie Wiebe took First Place in the 3 events she competed in. In previous years she has won the “Agregate” Award but this year she decided because of her heavy soccer schedule she would limit the number of events. The photo below is her Holly Elementary 4 x 100 team. L to R, Blaire Haskins, Jesse Holowaty, Allie Wiebe, Stephanie Day.

Goal Against The Lightning

There was only 30 seconds left in regulation time when Allie Wiebe scored this goal on a beautiful pass from Sam Holmes-McLusky.

Provincial Try Outs

Allie had a very strong showing at the Provincial Tryouts. She was very disappointed when she didn’t make the final squad but when asked how she felt, Allie replied with class and determination “I guess I’ll just have to get out there and show them what they’re missing”.

Allie Wiebe has done exactly that . . . she has consistently provided her speed and offense (as well as her cheerful encouraging attitude) to help her team dominate on the field.
